Metropolitan Police 2020 REPORT

Welcome so a new decade, for the police national tournament and a return by the Metropolitan Police to Collier Row.

As you would guess it was a full complement of teams, in total 14.

I would like to thank the centre for all the help and the smooth, running of the day, no problems and no breakdowns, a number of people (well only west Yorkshire) did not like the oil pattern, but that did not reflect in their scores. And the oil pattern was changed for the team event.

I would also like to thank the Romford mix, who helped make up the numbers great bowling from them.

The tournament saw some very high scoring and a multitude of 200 games Adam Blyth from West Yorkshire set the tone with 220,214,176 to take the scratch singles from will Line 211,197,195 (610 to 603).

There were a number of bowlers who bowled over 600 in the singles Dominic Bailey

took the handicap singles from Steve Chatburn 667- 653. The ladies handicap singles were won by Sarah Magro with 666.

The scratch doubles saw Tom Walsh and Tim Baxter win with a 1200 over Alan Hanafin and Jon Greengrass 1111 The handicap event went to Lee Franklin and Frank Mansfield from Dominic Baily and Geoff Mitchell 1474 -1417.

The team Scratch event saw West Yorkshire win 2433 to the mixed team of Lincs and Suffolk 2195. The handicap team was won by Sussex Martlets from a combined team of Sussex martins and Kent 2712 - 2681.

The all events were won by Rowan Hesse 1860 from Tom Walsh 1815 and Will Line 1799. The female all events was won by Jo Green 1568 from Sarah Magro 1465 and Pat Thomas 1442.
