A trip to Wellingborough. No Geoff, No Alan? Whats occuring methinks. Ah well Jon will be dragging his balls to one soon, with Tony we hope. Anyways Barry was there. 6:30 start as it appears my entry was a little late in. I would argue, but whats the point, theres no traffic on the M1 at that time of day. Why coz its to F*~kin early thats why. The bowl looks like it did last time so no surprise there. lanes the samew as well. never mind. Off we go and a few reasonable games and a few not so reasonable.. just a couple or three 190s and a couple of three 200+ games. top a 258 which was enough to win me my meal on the way home (£10.00) finished with what I thought a reasonable 1241 with a massive HC of .... 4 a game put me in 12th spot after squad one. Now anyone who knows the AMF bowlers club knows that that is the twilight world. not in not out....yet. so guess what I did. Said bugger it and went home! guess where I ended up? 24th... the cut, so lost a place, but go home in time for a sit in the garden, a few beers and I sacrificed a point in the AMF bowlers club rankings. Jon/Tony, come on down.... Whos for Worthing?

The AMF senior Bowlers Club is now having some interest shown by the Met group of players. Geoff Mitchell has been attending for a year with mixed sucsess and Alan Hanafin travelled to Sheffield for AMF Sheffield Senior singles along with Geoff and Barry. Geoff had a good session and finished a creditable 3rd place with Barry in 4th. (his second 4th place in a row) Alan although finding it tough was not disallusioned by the placing he recieved. It is a tough circuit to play on. There were 63 mens entrants at Sheffield. And the Northern Mafia was in attendance, with the exception of John Greathead and Tom Walsh (he must be 50!)

Geoff found time for a 745 set of (264-226-255) through the day and 1361 for six. Barry rolled a 1405 (700-705) for six with a high of 279. There are £10.00 pots |(like the Met as well for each game) and guess what... Barry topped Alans 236 for a tenner. Deja Vu!

The seniors are no mugs. Winner was Ron Oldfield with 224 average. Geoff had 210 with Barry 212 (over 15 games) and Alan rolled 181 over six. adicaps are included for various reasons... Interested... Geoff will talk you through an event if you ask nicely.

We agreed that they are good days out and with several members of a certain age it would improve the edge of many a player to travel further afield.. At £40.00 for six games its not bads value for money
